现在几乎所有的代购都会说自己的货可以在大陆专柜验货，可是又有几家大陆的专柜肯帮你验货呢，验了真假对他没任何好处，所以根本没什么专柜验货的说法，你拿到专柜，营业员第一件事就是让你拿专柜所在商场开具的发票，没有就面谈。教你一招，如果想验货的话可以直接从网上查你鞋子出货的那家IT店的电话，代购的鞋都有票据的，你能知道是从哪家发的，正常情况供大陆的NB应该都是上水或是沙田发的货，你说大小有些问题然后直接报小票编号让柜员帮忙看下，就能知道是不是真的是从香港发的货了，如果确定是香港发的，那么请放心，肯定是真货。如果不是，你应该懂得。

掘出第一桶金之后，沈嘉伟有了扩充生意的本钱。由于沈嘉伟与姐姐沈秀慧都曾在银行工作，熟悉借贷运作。在银行的支持下，他的Green Peace分店愈开愈多，他同时也获得多个欧美时装品牌的销售权，生意越做越大。

1997年，沈嘉伟再次经受住考验。当时，英文名称为Green Peace的国际环保团体“绿色和平”组织指控他盗用名称。沈嘉伟当机立断，将Green Peace时装店改名为IT。IT品牌登场后，沈嘉伟调整策略，开始引入日本品牌时装，进军香港沙田屯门等非传统零售旺区，分店数目急速膨胀；1997年金融风暴后市道欠佳，但他于2000年在香港铜锣湾连开10店，雄霸百德新街。

截止2010年8月31日，IT在香港共有198 家自营门店，在中国内地拥有147家自营门店和47家特许经营店，是时尚需求快速增长的最佳受益者，受益中国升级，在中国大陆地区取得重大突破，2010年上半年取得税前利润4200万港元，远高于市场预期。

截至2012年2月这家公司在全香港开设的大小IT以及品牌独立店总数为266家，全部为自营店。在面积和消费人群都要大得多的中国内地，IT所有的自营店与授权店总共才295家。自行控制成本的自有品牌则为IT贡献了最多的利润。2011年，IT自有品牌的销售增长率达621%，是代理品牌的两倍。
